Sources & imports
Each source contributes to your financial picture. Coverage and dates vary; inferred categories can be reviewed.
BRING THE NEXT CHAPTER
Import financial data
Choose any supported file. Contents and date range are detected automatically. Different source files contribute to your combined picture; importing a revised file with the same name and worksheet replaces its active version. Review the preview before saving. PDFs use Google Document AI after your approval, with a slower on-device backup toggle. Review and edit extracted text before saving it to your workspace; other supported files are processed on the server.
Supported import formats
Unfamiliar tables offer reviewed column mapping. Unstructured text and HTML are kept as document context for grounded answers, without assuming transactions or balances. Google Document AI reads PDF pages in small groups with progress and cancellation. Choose the on-device toggle to use local text extraction and English OCR instead. Review the full extracted text and page coverage before previewing and confirming. OCR can misread amounts and dates; correct them before saving. Password-protected PDFs need an unlocked local copy.
Credit-report PDF, TXT, or HTML imports can supply dated balances, limits, payments and account status. Credit-card notes are optional when those details are already present. Review the recognized fields before saving. Reports and notes may overlap; balances are not spending. Bank and card statements may still be needed for purchases, current APRs and due dates.
Any filename is accepted. The preview detects bank transactions or credit / loan accounts from headings and records. TXT can contain a statement, an account list, or a delimited table.
CSV and Excel transaction tables need date, description and signed amount columns, or separate debit / credit columns. Common header names are recognized. Running balance is optional. Credit tables need account name and balance, with optional monthly payment and account type. Dates use YYYY-MM-DD, M/D/YYYY, or Excel date cells. Choose a worksheet when several are detected. Export formula cells as values. Macros are never executed.
